The EVTA Executive Committee is delighted to invite you to our first in a new series of online events. These events are open to all members and Friends of EVTA, and free to attend. The first event will be on January 16th 2026 at 17:30 CET (16:30 GMT / 18:30 EET) with a duration of 90 minutes.

Toni Linke will be opening our series with a lecture and workshop on rough vocal effects. Toni is a musician, singer and vocal coach who specialises in rock and metal techniques such as distortion and screaming.

Toni will explore rough vocal effects like distortion, growl and grunt which cannot only be found in metal and rock, but also in pop, folk, jazz and even classical singing, yet so far are still rarely being taught in singing lessons. Toni provides an overview of his evidence-based categorization as well as how they can be produced and taught efficiently and sustainably.
